Code Vein 2: Battle Axe Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Battle Axes in Code Vein 2 aren't weapons you equip and swing. They're Bequeathed Formae — summoned spectral axes activated from a dedicated offensive slot, separate from your standard loadout.

Equip one alongside a heavy greatsword build, and your dodge stays Quick. Add a two-handed hammer, and your roll stays fast.

Bequeathed Formae add zero Burden regardless of how large they look. All 3 Battle Axe locations are tracked on MapMaster's Code Vein 2 interactive maps.

What Are Bequeathed Formae Battle Axes?

Bequeathed Formae occupy a specific slot outside your standard weapon inventory. Once equipped, you charge and activate them via L2/LT — hold to charge, release to trigger.

They use Ichor to activate rather than stamina, which means managing your Ichor generation through your Jail directly affects how often you can deploy them.

Unlike standard weapons that upgrade with Tender Crimson Stones, Bequeathed Formae are enhanced through Proficiency and Heart Remnants at any of Jadwiga's Minion merchant stations.

They cannot be transformed but can be upgraded through multiple tiers.

How to Acquire All Three

Idris's Conceit is the first Battle Axe and arrives automatically — no hunting required. Progress through MagMell Island's main story until you use the Time Travel Bond "2177: Assault on MagMell Era" at the top of the Forma Storage Tower.

The Bond initiates Lou's time-travel sequence to rescue Noah, and Idris's Conceit is handed to you as part of that transition. It cannot be missed.

Both the Forma Storage Tower and the Bond location are marked on the MagMell Island map.

Lightning Weapon and Lightning Barrel are both purchased from Jadwiga's Minion stationed next to the skeletons on the shore of The Continent.

Idris's Conceit: Slow Field and Shield Breaking

Early to mid-game, Idris's Conceit is the most versatile Bequeathed Forma available. Each swing generates a temporal force field with a wide-area shockwave, and the field stacks the Slow status ailment with each hit — briefly immobilising enemies and creating openings.

The axe also tears through shields, making it effective against guarding enemies who resist standard weapon strikes. The delay before the attack executes is significant, so timing the charge against enemy animations matters.

Pair it with a high Ichor-generating Jail to keep the slow field active more consistently during extended fights.
